ΤHE AROMA OF TRADITION
A film of 6 minutes that briefly presents the first generation of the Museum’s educational programs 1996- 2002 and especially the educational programs “The aroma of Tradition”, “Artist without a name” and the “Rainbow of nature”. The film was presented at the National Seminar «Museum-School» (Kavala, 2002), as well as at the exhibition «Cultural games» (Athens-Thessaloniki, 2003) organized by the Ministry of Culture.

The film observes the blind sculptor Petros Roukoutakis working at his atelier. At the same time, a dialogue begins with the Museum that organized the exhibition “Bright Darkness” in May 2005. Petros Roukoutakis was a painter until the age of 28. When he lost his sight due to pathogenic reasons, he became a sculptor using his inner vision and his hands as main tools, bringing to light representations and personal experiences from a life elsewhere.

NOT ALL PLANTS DYE…
Εleni Anipsitaki - Daouraki, teacher, folklorist and founder of the Folklore Museum of Sitia, talks about dyeing, the technique of fast coloring of yarns with natural colors. In this short interview -the last she gave before her death in 2009- she culminates her donation to the Cretan open-air Museum "Lychnostatis". The Museum "Lychnostatis" has since then created in her memory and implemented the educational program "Colors & graces".
