ΜINOAN NECTAR

Aromatic tea made from 12 dried herbs, widely used throughout the centuries.Among them the great Cretan Dictamos or Erontas. The herbs can be found in the Museum’s garden with no fertilizers and natural methods are used for their drainage.

VENUS

Aromatic tea from 6 dried herbs of Crete, cultivated at the Museum. Plants, like rosemary and throumbi as well as the myrtle  and  the bay leaf,  that often mythology and tradition relate them to love stories, become ingredients in a drink, easily considered as the gift of Aphrodite to man.

ΚEFTERIA’

Must pudding (boiled grape juice with flour) cut in small cubes and dried under the sun. It is the chocolate of Crete, very popular and healthy snack for everybody. The kefteria can be stored for many months in dry and cool place.

FIG-VINEGAR

It is produced from figs collected from the fig trees in the Museum‘s garden. Less acid than the original one with aroma commonly used in salads.

FIG - PIE

Made of dried figs. Figs are grinded and mixed with walnuts, grape juice and ouzo.They are oven baked.

FIG - BREAD

Dried bread made from Cretan wheat and fig juice. An unforgettable taste.

FIG - WAFFLE

Small rolls of dough with dried figs’ filling, oven baked. It is sugar- free and the favorite delicacy of all, either young or old.

DRY FIGS

Selected dry figs, whole or sliced, that still nowadays claim a place in our nutrition.

ROSE SWEET (rosesugar)

An aromatic sweet made from the rose petals that can be found in the Museum’s garden.
